In Studio Plein Aire

I decided to just do a painting of my work area, instead of a still life, I found it more interesting. I did this in gouache which I found makes me focus more on positive negatives and shape relations. It took about 2 hours.

  1. I think this is one of my favorite paintings of yours! I really love your stuff like this, "slice of life" pieces. It's so warm and lifelike. Epic work, sir.

  2. I think it turned out pretty good Jeff. I admit that having the computer screen, witch is the brightest object in the painting, so close to the middle is a little distracting. Although that is a minor thing. Overall though I like it.

  3. Thanks Stephanie, and Jake, I was going to do a whole different section of the room but I turned around and saw the corner where I normally work and really liked the lighting. I didn't plan the design to much of this one too much I just stated painting dark shapes and went from there.
